In late autumn of 2013 when we left Maryland and moved down here to our little farmlet, Chris was overjoyed to leave behind a single black walnut tree at the top of our driveway. In 2014 when our new trees leafed out, he was dismayed to realize that more than half the trees on our property are black walnut trees! In 2015, he decided to “make lemonade” with these walnuts and began a huge walnut collection project. In all, he harvested and dried over 100 pounds of walnuts! As you may know, black walnuts are quite expensive in the grocery stores because they are such a pain to crack. We offer both shelled and unshelled walnuts, with the unshelled ones being a mere fraction of the cost! Our walnuts are grown without any chemicals and are delightful in baked goods or eaten in pieces straight from the shell. They also provide hours of entertainment while attempting to crack their hard shells!
